TENT VS GROW ROOM
Grow room vs Grow tent is certainly one of the greatest dilemmas for those who are into indoor gardening. A grow tent is easier to keep at your targeted temperature, as well as retaining adequate light and privacy. While a grow room provides a larger work area, air flow isn’t a typical issue, however, keeping your plants hidden may be a problem.
LED, HIGH PRESSURE SODIUM
CMH fixtures put off more heat than LED’s, but less heat than their HPS counterparts. However, the LED grower will use less power for cooling, but that savings depends on the other factors in the grow space. The additional cost of a CMH grower will realize is the price of replacing bulbs.
INLINE AND CIRCULATORY FANS
Proper tent ventilation is essential to healthy plant growth, and proper filtration is equally essential to clean the air and remove all odors that may be present. You should be replacing the air in your grow tent/room close to every 5 minutes to help combat heat and/or humidity.
HYDROPONIC VS SOIL
Despite all the advantages that come with the control of a hydroponic grow, it’s often more labor-intensive and holds a high skill barrier. With a soil grow your primary concerns are centered around light and nutrients; with hydroponics, you still have to maintain deliberate control in those areas, while managing a complex and sensitive system that circulates water and nutrients among your plants.
PPM & PH
Know your PPM (Parts Per Million) helps you avoid possible burning by letting you know when to adjust the amount of nutrient minerals you add to your water. Cannabis enjoys 500-600 PPM after cloning, 800-900 PPM when vegetating, and 1000-1100 PPM when flowering. PH on the other hand is a measure of how acidic or alkaline your solution is. The PH scale ranges from 1-14, with a neutral point of 7. Cannabis plants thrive in soil with a PH of 6.0-7.0 PH. In a hydroponic or soilless application Cannabis plants thrive at 5.5-6.5 PH. So knowing the mineral content and the acidity alkalinity of your water before mixing your notes can avoid stressing you and your plants.
